Oracion

Day Five

Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

I think the last day on the canal with a group is my favorite day.
I love how Rebecca describes this picture.
Throughout the day we were scattered throughout the canal visiting with the people.
Rebecca looked down the street and saw all the people and said that
she didn't see people, but the arms of God reaching out to the people through us.
What a beautiful imagery!

This day we dedicate each work project and pray with the families as we finish.
It is such a powerful day full of giving thanks to God.
This was the dedication of the Trade School.

This was the dedication of the new house!

Loft in the new house, they loved it!

He sang for us at the dedication!

This group of people worked at Saira's house moving dirt, preparing the land for their new house!
The land is ready!

And as always, We have fun!

Day Four

Isaiah 55:6-9

6 Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

On Thursday I was privileged to get to visit a girls school in Edinburg, TX that is primarily for needy Mexican girls.

Regional Bible Institute (Click here to view their website!)

How can they go to school in the states?
This is a private, Christian boarding school.
The director of the school has made it possible for these girls to get visas and passports to come to school.
This is kind of like us going to study abroad in another country.
The primary goal is for them to graduate and be able to go back to Mexico and work to support their country and family.

I think the best way to show you this wonderful place is through pictures! So here are a few

The first room I saw when I walked it was the piano and guitar lab!
Being a music major, I fell in love!

5 Girls are taught private lessons on piano and then those 5 girls teach some of their peers.
The school is all about teaching the girls how to teach and leadership!

These are some of the girls' desks where they do their work.

Computer lab!
This is amazing because they will learn to use technology, most of which have never used before!

This is one of the bunks where the girls sleep. I thought it was so so cute!
Reminded me of camp, or the dorms at school.

These are two of the classrooms.
There are 3 classrooms, 1 for each school.
Elementary, Middle, and High.
The school also goes through college classes and the girls can leave with a teaching certification!

They also learn how to sew!

This is their kitchen where the girls eat all of their meals.

Library!

I was so impressed with the school and can't wait to see it in action!

We have two girls headed to the school in the fall for sure, and hopefully a few more!
Please be in prayer for them as they get their paperwork and embark on an amazing opportunity!

Casi Terminando!

Day Three

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.
                                                                                                 Psalm 29:11
We kept hard at work and almost finished all of the projects!
This is one of the rooms in the Trade School!
Jacob putting the roof on the Trade School.

Outside the Trade School.

"Workshop of Hope"

Al working on the roof!

The Guys finishing up the house!

The kids love to help out :)

And of course we don't just work!

I get to see this precious smile!

And hang out with these two beautiful girls.

Manuel! so so so cute

Girlies playing at the craft table!

They love the trampoline.

Angel wasn't so happy... but he's still so adorable!

And this is Paloma, she just got braces!

We come here to help the people on the canal but they always bless me in so many ways!

Muchas Trabajar

Day Two

John 6:27Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.
Today we began the many projects around the canal.
We are building a house.
Leveling dirt to add on to a house.
Adding lofts to houses.
Painting a big fence.
And of course, spreading the Gospel!

I was helping at Saira's house, leveling their land!
They were so eager to help, which absolutely amazes me.

The construction site for the new house!

Painting the sides of the house!

Of course we had fun today too!

This is William! When I met him he was a very sick little baby, and now look how happy he is!

This is Carlos, so mischievous, but can be sweet when he wants to be!

High fives for Baby William!

And lots of love!

The kids love to hold hands, too cute!

Saira and I now have 3 matching bracelets haha!

We gave out suckers and turned Iris' mouth blue! haha

These cute Amigos were holding hands and eating their suckers together!

I think this is my favorite part of every day,
walking down the street, talking or not and just being with them.
More tomorrow.
